Perfect Sentiments – Here Comes the Sun

It’s time for another Perfect Sentiments Challenge! This week we’re creating a card with a sunny sentiment like: you are my sunshine, wishing you sunny days, you shine, etc. The "twist" is to include an image of the sun on your card. Pattie's Creations is sponsoring us this week with a free digi as the prize to one lucky winner. Be sure to stop over to Pattie's Creations and take a look around! Here's my contribution to this weeks challenge: I found these fence cards several months ago at a stamp convention and decided to one out for this weeks challenge. Week #8 Publication Call – Regaining Perspective

I lost perspective....... A busy schedule, lots of deadlines, family needs, it all crept in and took over my time, I quietly justified my need to step away from my daily quiet time with God and fellowship with other Christians. I had obligations that had to be fulfilled, and I couldn't let others down could I? That's when I lost perspective.....until, I received this weeks Publication Call picture from our photographer Stephen Bivens. I opened the file and sat quietly, waiting for the image to speak to me, to tell me what our direction would be for this weeks section of our book. I drew a blank......my mojo was absent.....I was uninspired.....or, was I? The Cross in the picture.....what FULL STORY HERE....... Read more

The Family God Plants Us Into

Have you ever wondered why God placed us into the families we belong to? Have you ever looked around at your family and thought to yourself "boy, are we different from other people..." or, "I have empathy for anyone entering into our family!" Families are a little like puzzles aren't they....each person is a part of the whole and without them, it just seems that the puzzle would never be complete. I've been blessed with an incredible family and I love everything about them. Ok, well maybe not "everything" but it's pretty darn close! lol! {They could say the same thing about me I'm sure!) The older family members are very special, they have been a part of our lives as we have grown up and share FULL STORY HERE....... Read more

DCVW / May Arts Challenge: Refurbished Shadowbox

Hi everyone! I'm so excited today is finally here!! DCVW & May Arts have revealed all the creations from those selected to participate in the May Arts Challenge and my Shadowbox is part of the excitement!! I had purchased this shadowbox over a year ago at a yard sale for a small amount of money and knew that one day I would make it into something beautiful that could be displayed. The man who made the box shared with me that he was a woodworker and made these boxes for a local nursing homes Alzheimer's unit. They would have pictures in them of each patient and hung outside of their room for all to stop enjoy. I could tell by the way he talked that this was a special project for him, FULL STORY HERE....... Read more
