Repost::: Week #5 Publication Call

Welcome back to Parables of a Crafters Week # Publication Call!! My post is severely delayed and I sure do apologize for that. I've gone from spending most of my days crafting to bed rest for the past week due to an injury in my back. I'm in hopes of seeing a return to good health soon so that I can be sure to get these Publication Calls out to you each week. This weeks Publication Call is a repost from a prior week. We've not done this before but felt it was necessary to do this week in hopes of receiving more card submissions. For each section of our book project, we would like to receive as many card submissions as possible so that our judges have plenty of cards to select from. Here FULL STORY HERE....... Read more

Using the Excess: Tasteful Tags

Hi everyone, welcome to Thursday! Today, I want to share with you one of my favorite things to create as a means for using up left over supplies. Tags, tags and more tags!! Birthdays, anniversary, thinking of you, holidays....there are so many opportunities to incorporate tags into our gifts for others. A tag, if handmade is an extension of the gift and shows your recipient that you went the extra mile for them because they are special to you! This first set of tags is made using rosetta flowers and paper scraps. I used a Spellbinders die cut to create the top of the tags: My second set uses distressing inks and random stamping. This is a very simple way to use multiple stamps FULL STORY HERE....... Read more

Perfect Sentiments – Favorite Scripture/Quote Sketch

We're here again with another Perfect Sentiments Challenge! This week, we're using a favorite scripture or quote as your sentiment. The layout this week is based on the  provided sketch: our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images with a prize of one free digi to a lucky person! Be sure to stop over to Shelly's Images and say hello! Here's my contribution to this weeks challenge: I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the flowers down the middle and used colored circles in red, blue, yellow and green to put behind the flower cuts to give them some color and added a gold brad to the center of each. Above and below my sentiment, (my favorite!!) I scored using the Martha Stewart Score tool. FULL STORY HERE....... Read more

Be Still and know God

Be Still for God

I love being challenged with Scripture!! The challenge over at Jennipher Lowery's blog "Paper Expressions" offered an opportunity this week on Tuesday's Testimonial to share our own piece of Scripture art along with a Testimony, Devotion or a few meaningful words. You know me.....I'm always up for creating something and sharing a few meaningful words so I had to join in! I opted to use a stamp that has been sitting dormant for a while, it's a shame how we collect so much and don't get to really use many of our wonderful things isn't it? I've had this stamp for about 4 years and have only used it a few times. The scripture is so simple and beautiful "Be still and know that I am God. Psalm FULL STORY HERE....... Read more

Week #9 Publication Call – In The Garden

"I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, the Son of God Discloses." How precious are the words of this song, their meaning so important to understand if we desire a deeper relationship with Christ. A free invitation from God, to enter into a quiet place of conversation with Him alone.  To sit silently, hear His voice, feel His love, to enter into a place of loving dialogue with our Heavenly Father. Mr. Bivens, our Photographer decided on this picture for this weeks Publication Call and when I saw it, I immediately thought of the song by C. Austin Miles "I Come to the Garden Alone." This picture was taken at the Billy Graham FULL STORY HERE....... Read more
