Memory box & card: You’ve touched my life

Orange Memory box1

“Stop procrastinating and write a blog post already” I keep telling myself!

I put the task on my calendar for this morning and promised myself that I would make this a priority today! If I made New Year’s resolutions, I would say mine would be to quit procrastination and stop chasing those “squirrel” distractions!

I should have blogged about this a few months ago but better late then never! I am in love with altered cigar boxes that hold handmade cards! A lot of work? Why yes, yes it is! But oh, the results are well worth the effort!

This memory box and card were created at the request of a sweet friend who wanted something special for her mother who was celebrating her 80th birthday! She requested a card but I decided to insert creative license and make a keepsake box to deliver the card in. I can picture her face….she opens the package and sees the memory box and is so happy to receive a handmade gift…then, imagine her surprise when she opens the box and discovers the matching card! What I would have given to be there to see her face!

Many of the cards I create are “one-of-a-kind” cards and have a depth to them that makes it impossible to place them in an envelope and mail them. They are cards that are also gifts which means they need to be properly and beautifully packaged! I created this card using many of my Spellbinder dies and also several dies from Creative Expressions. You can see how they work together so beautifully!

The size of this box is 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. If you’d like more details on this gift set, please just leave me a message in the comments section!

Until next time!

You are so amazingly talented! The card and box are beautiful and would make a great gift! Do you think you could do a manly version? Although, the colors of this could be for a man…. I absolutely LOVE the idea of the card and gift box.
