Repurposed Jack Daniels….With Flowers!

May Arts Ribbon Spring Craft Challenge participants really brought their game with their creations! I was provided an opportunity to participate in this challenge, although what I ended up creating wasn't my original plan! I had begun with the idea of an altered cigar box.....our grandson Adam decided to use my box as a seat and well....let's just say I had to change my idea as the cigar box didn't survive his excitement! lol! “Art is life with wings”

  "Which came first....the quote or the canvas?" What began as a blank canvas, ended up as a mixed media piece that to me really speaks to the spirit of creating. It's not really about the finished piece, for me, it is about the journey one takes in order to arrive at the place that allows you to look at something and say "ok....this is what I wanted this to be". That, I believe, is the beauty of self expression and art! Lots of elements going on in this piece (would you expect otherwise? lol!) Mod podged paper and paint as the base, LOTS of additional paint and stamping, rolled paper that was inked and stamped and placed as a backdrop for the winged lady. Gifted card box with tutorial

   Hello blogger friends. After a few months of creating cards, writing up descriptions and settling on prices, I was able to get my Etsy Shop open this week! I'm so thankful that I am able to create and share my things with others, including, this tutorial for card boxes which I hope you enjoy and use! Many of my cards are larger squared creations that have a lot of elements on them. They can't be placed in envelopes as that would smash them or make them fall apart. I was perusing other Makers blogs a few weeks back and came across a beautiful card made by Becca Feekan at Amazing Paper Grace which came with a box. Perfect Sentiments – Let it Snow!

This week our challenge at the Perfect Sentiments blog is to create a card with a sentiment for the occasion of your choice. Our "Twist" this week is to incorporate some form of snow on your card: die-cut or punched snowflakes, snowflake embossing folder, snowmen or women. Bible Verses and Flowers Merged

  There are a few things that I especially love to use when crafting.  Spellbinders Dies Bible verse stamps Flower Images How fortunate for me that I was able to incorporate all three of these into some cards which go in the "For Sale" basket! I purchased the bible verse set at a recent craft show, they're from Our Daily Bread. The Spellbinders die is one of my favorite to use; I just love the shape of these and the different sizes. The flower images are two stamps that I purchased a few years ago but still pull down to use quite frequently. Just goes to show that "new" isn't always better! We had a successful crop this weekend at Bay Life church in brandon Florida! This event was used to raise money for our youth and their upcoming missions trips. It was a fantastic day, the only down side is that it's going to take my feet, arches and back a week or two to recover!! I love teaching women who are excited to learn! Read more
